Am I right in thinking that Rutland offer a free bike check/service after so many weeks after purchasing a new bike with them?

Many thanks.
David.

  • yes, 6-8 weeks after the purchase you can book it in for a free service. One wonders how thorough it is. Mine is due soon.

Excellent, thanks for the replies. I booked it in a few weeks back but just wanted to make sure it was free and they weren’t expecting some money from me.

There’s nothing much for them to do as I’ve been tweaking things as and when needed but it would appear that the 14T cog has a tooth that’s out of line so causes a clicking noise when in use. It’s nothing that can be sorted via adjustment. I believe it’s similar to a question that was asked on GCN’s tech clinic this week. It went largely unanswered though.

or you could have just asked them when you booked it in.
