Cheapest I can see a di2 gruppo is £1300 ? - any bargain hunters out there

Just over £1,000 from Acycles. You could source brakes and crankset elsewhere and still come in cheaper than the £1,300. Mind you, with Acycles, it depends whether it is actually in stock. Don't forget that you need to factor in wheels, bars and stem, seat post and saddle, bar tape.

I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.

Not hydro disc set which would need different shifters, plus seems pricier than other places.

OP. £1300 is about the cheapest I've seen recently, unless you can find something 2nd hand. Bear in mind some of these groupsets don't include the brake rotors in the prices, so factor that in, another £60-£70. Could be looking at £2300 or so depending how much you want to spend on wheels, tyres and finishing kit.

For that money you could get something like this which may have nicer wheels for the price. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/vitu ... prod159912

Craft marketing by Acycles (much like their take your order for "in stock" items only they aren't in stock) as the link from the R8070 search said R8070. I didn't check it and even worse, its 6870!

I looked at a doing Kenisis 4S disk hydraulic disk build and I was going to be the best part of >£2K - and then I gor a deal on a Cervelo C3 Ultegra Di2 for £2400 which was too good a deal to turn down - better frame (but worse wheels() than I was planning
ultegra Di2 us about £1300 on its own (if you can get stock) Bi.e42.de is showing unavailable as a groupset - https://www.bike24.de/1.php?content=7&m ... 9%5D=14321

Happy to be proven wrong (I know the warriors on here love doing that :) ), but I would be surprised if you could build a bike up cheaper than an assembled one (like for like obviously, so not a full price 2019 bike vs a 2017 groupset etc.).

Hoping to be in the market for a new machine in the spring (have just been made redundant) and interested in the outcome :)

You could scrounge together parts for Shimano R785 groupset, like this:

Post mounts, though, and hoods are wide

Just bought one of the Boardman Elite SLR Race 9.8 Framesets on a bit of a whim, seemed like a good deal to me.
Got the winter to source some groupset parts and wheels to build it up.

Don't forget that you get British Cycling discount at Cycle Republic.
