2018 Voodoo Bantu Bottom Bracket

Hi I'm looking for some advice and hope someone could help,

I have a 2018 Voodoo Bantu and would like to upgrade the bottom bracket as it is making squeeky creeky noises,
I would like to go for a hollowtech II crank set up

Cycle republic specs for the bike state that the Bottom Bracket is: FSA BB-7420, 73x122.5mm, square taper

I am looking at the Shimano MT800 Bottom Bracket Cup Set, is this the right size?

I would like to keep a 2x drive train but will upgrade to 2x 10 at a later date

Any help suggestions welcome,TIA

That Shimano BB is no good for you unless you also intend changing the chainset.
You need a square taper bb to suit your current chainset.

Have you checked the bb is tight? It only needs to be slightly loose to cause a creak.

That'd be an expensive solution to a creak when the alternative is just to replace the BB with a square taper BB if you think the existing one is faulty in some way, given that you'd need a new HT crankset too.

Take it back to Halfords and get them to check the BB for you, it is still under warranty as its a 2018 bike.
The staff at Halfords can be hit & miss, but give 'em a chance, you may get a 'hit'

Voodoo are a Halfords brand, so unless it was 2nd hand, then that's where its from....

And they are actually an American brand, with Halfords being sole distributor in the UK.

And designed by Joe Murray, who also did designs for Marin and the classic 1990's Konas.

Indeed, that was why I suggested it might not be a Halfords purchase.

If CR are selling them online, presumably the "sole distributor" bit applies to the group rather than the specific retailer of Halfords.

just take the bike to a bike shop and get them to take out and regrease the bottom bracket. If its a new bike doubt you have ridden thousands of miles to wear it out.

The bike shop will advise if its faulty and needs replacing.
