    Don't get a suspension fork - adds weight and complexity which you probably won't need for your use.

    Make sure you get a hybrid with wider tyres (35mm plus) and make sure the chain set has lower than a 34 inner chaining and you should be fine. Giant escape is good, also look at the pinnacle lithium range from Evans or the Subway 2 from Halfords if your budget is lower.
