Ask a LBS for an old bike box to put it in.

Are you sure the sale is legit?

try sameday-delivery.co.uk to get quotes. Will be expensive.

royal mial charged mf £70 to get a frameset to the US - just take it there (the post office, not the US)
    LBS supplied box

On occasion unscrupulous buyers from overseas will turnout to be fraudulent.

Genuinely don't want to sound like a scaremonger but just do your due diligence.

of course, if you do want to do your due diligence remember that all id needs to certified as a true copy and its best practice if you hold dd on the certifier which in turn has been certified or you have met them.

address conf. needs to be within 3 months or a site visit.

any funds needs certified source of funds report. "income" or "inheritance" is not enough. a copy of a bank statement showing where its from or wage slip is cool.

or just wait for the money to hit your account, take it out and send the person the bike.

Only the value we attach to said "things"... but from a nihilistic standpoint, no, everything is meaningless ;)

Of course, the intelligent thing to do would have been to sort that kind of thing out before agreeing to sell to an overseas buyer...........
    Cannondale Synapse Carbon Ultegra
    Kinesis Racelight 4S
Specialized Allez Elite (Frame/Forks for sale)
Specialized Crosstrail Comp Disk (For sale)

Maybe this video from Evans Cycles can help with how to package the bike:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moJUdTf ... e=youtu.be

The video is for setting the bike up after delivery. I suppose you could pretty much follow the same steps, but in reverse.

Actually the video is for UK deliveries. I received a bike by international delivery. The only difference was the front wheel was off to make the overall package dimensions smaller.

Yes be careful of the bike box size as I found out. 1.5 meter if I remember, which is smaller than you think.
