Sram groupset mixing

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to upgrade from rival 1x to rival 22 without breaking the bank. So I was just going to buy the left. Hydraulic lever, the 22 chain rings and bolts and a front derailleur.
So if you put a sram rival 22 52/36 chainset and derailleur on the front and a rival 1x 11/42 on the back, good idea? Bad idea?
The bike is used for everything, touring, commuting and a bit of single track, it's loads of fun and is 'not bad' at doing everything. Also has s and s couplers on a ti frame.
Also where can you get just a new left hrd rival lever, without buying the caliper? OR the bits to convert a 1x left lever (brake only) into a shift lever?
Cheers all!
