We have a week staying about 4 miles West of Mallwyd on the Gwynedd/Powys border in August.Anyone familiar with the area?
Obviously its Wales,Snowdonia is on the doorstep and I could plot routes myself but I'm after pointers for "must dos".
It's a family holiday so I won't be doing much more than 40-50 miles and I'll be looking to do shorter 20-30 miles with my son(10).
Any pointers/tips appreciated 8)

You could get some ideas form this event - http://www.welshcyclingevents.co.uk/big_dog.asp
I am riding it and there are some cracking roads around there. Hellfire Pass (Bwlch y Groes) is a belter of a climb to try.
