Hey guys

I currently have a MTB but looking at selling to put it towards a road bike. I am only going to buy a second hand road bike as it's my first array in to road biking and I believe ill put it to more use than my mountain bike.

Is there anything I need to look for when buying? Only looking at spending £150.00 or so.

For that price, the ideal candidate would be a Btwin Triban Red (the original one was a superb spec) or maybe something like a 500SE

Carrera TDF wasnt a bad bike but not quite in the same league

That money is probably not enough to get a Specialized Allez but you might get lucky

Look for shimano gear levers & mech if possible and shimano brakes

At that budget you are looking at 2nd hand and budget end bikes. If you have some decent maintenance skills you may get something more "up market" which needs some work.

    Good luck.
  • Whats the MTB like? if your only spending £150 on the road bike possibly some faster tyres, etc might give you more bang per buck?

Don't think you will get much for £150 so the above post could be a better bet so try some road tyres and see how you go?
  • buy on ebay or ask friend who is into road cycling
