Riding in Nice - Cote d'Azur

I fancy a change form the usual Majorca/ Calpe for spring 2019.

Has anyone got any experience of riding around Nice? I'm particularly concerned about finding somewhere that i can get out of on bike without fearing for my life, that's easily accessible from the airport with a bike box.

Any other tips will be appreciated.

    Some great riding from Vence which is just a few miles from Nice Airport. Lots of quiet scenic roads north west of Vence. I’ve ridden to a campsite there many times from the airport and there’s enough scope for two or three good day rides. Head north from Vence over the Col de Vence or west through Tourettes-sur-Loup. A bit further from Nice is the Mercantour National Park. I’ve ridden from the airport and based myself at a campsite at Roquebilliere for good day rides via L’Authion, the Col de Turini and Utelle.
