10spd-11spd chainrings
Hi all I have got a SRAM rival 11 speed semi compact crank and I was trying to find out whether I can just replace the chainrings with 50-34 from my Shimano 105 10 speed crankset? Both use 5 bolt spider, I am just worried about compatibility.
Please let me know if possible and will shift/run okay?
Thanks,

If all spacing is ok then yes it will work fine however I think semi compact is 130 bcd and compact is 110 so they won't fit.
Just change the whole chainset across and lower the mech to suit.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

Semi compact uses 110bcd. However 10 speed spacing is wider than 11 speed. It will work but the front shifting bug to small will sometimes miss. Give it a go. If your not happy change the rings.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0

I have it both ways on my bikes; one has 11 speed chainset with 10-speed groupset and the other 10-speed chainset with 11-speed groupset. Didn't notice any difference in shifting quality with either setup. Never misses a shift.0

this exactly.
running 10 speed 105 crankset on 11 speed ultegra and it work perfectly. never any trouble ever.
also running 10 speed fsa sl-k on11 speed ultegra and it works perfectly. never any trouble ever.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

Thanks all - but wouldn't the spacing be down the spider itself? So if I'm swapping rings using the same 11 speed spider, the spacing would be the same or are the actual rings different widths as well?
Unfortunately I have just found that the current 11 spd SRAM chainset has the hidden bolt behind the crank, so I won't be able to swap out for my shimano rings as I don't think I can get the shimano bolt down behind the crank to tighten.
Maybe I will just got the r7000 11-30 cassette and keep my 36-52 rings. :roll:0 -
You can remove the spider on Rival hidden bolt cranks - If you look at it from the axle side, you'll see 3 Torx bolts holding it on. Then you get proper access to the hidden bolt.0
