    You don't. You commute in clothing that continues to provide insulation even when wet.

    Office/casual clothing (cotton shirts, T-shirts, jeans, chinos etc) is uncomfortable when wet. Proper sports kit generally isn't.

    Best advice is to 'make your own mistakes' and learn lessons from them.
    What works for others may not be for you.
    My top tip, cheapo overtrousers from Sports Direct, cut them 3/4, emergency protection. Trousers can get soaked within 2 minutes.
