Replacement disk wheelset.. lost .. help!

My partners bike is a Cannondale synapse disk and she unfortunately had a slight accident on it a few weeks ago essentially knackering the wheels.

So.. thinking it was easy to find replacements, I'm now lost in a world of widths and axles etc.

From the looks of it I just need a 6bolt disk 700c wheelset which has a standard width axle and quick release. I also don't want to spend any more than £200 ideally but there is seriously nothing.

Any thoughts? There doesn't seem to be any wheels out there that are like the ones she had!?

That's more than a slight accident to destroy both wheels?
    What was the damage exactly?

I’ve just replaced the stock wheels on my Synapse for some lighter ones, 700c wheels are fine. If you want to use the same disc rotors then you need six bolt. If you don’t mind buying new rotors, then it doesn’t matter whether you get centre lock or six bolt wheels, just get rotors to match.

Planet X do some Vision disc wheels for £200, my mate has them on his commuter.
  • Sadly wheels seem to me at least the biggest ripoff in cycling so unless your lucky I doubt you’ll get a pair for under £200. Also if both wheels have been damaged then I would be worried about the frame does it have any signs of damage ???

In fairness it's mainly the front wheel. It went into and along a kerb. The rest of the bike is fine but the front suffered bad gouges in the rim and brake track, spoke and way out of true.

I have just seen these at Ribble...

Few hundred grams less than stock and seem to be 6bolt. All I can find about width is in the q&a. The front is deffo 100mm and rear 135 in the Cannondale

Hang on - if its a disk wheelset - how can she have knackered the brake track - unless the kerb is over a foot high ?

I'd just take it into a shop to get trued. I don't think you need two new wheels.

Yeah it wasn't the brake track sorry it was the flatter upper end of the rims. Chucked now as they were not in a great state.

I guess if I go centre lock a new set of disks are needed too. What a ball ache.

Is this the correct way of spelling cocc?
  • Confused and maybe haven't read the thread properly, but why not the obvious? 6-bolt QR:
