hi all. i'm a fat daddy, like 93kg. but i'm in decent condition in the flatlands, i can do fast group rides at 40k/h for stretches. this year i've done 2 wimpy mountains in LA and SC that were 300m. i'm looking to do a big ride in october that offers 2 options:

80km with 1200m of climbing

140km with 2500m of climbing

i'm leaning toward the first one, but maybe a ridiculous challenge is good for me. thoughts?

thanks!

Obviously only you know how fit you are, up your training and go for the 140 km if you think you can manage it
Which one you ride , just enjoy it

Do the long one. No point going if you don't want to push yourself.

You aren't going to win (well this is posted in amateur race) either and if you find cycling fun then the longer one is just more fun so I'd enter that. Seriously if you can hold 40k even in a group for several miles you will be able to finish the long one even if it doesn't suit your strengths.
