Hi,
I have been looking on gumtree and Facebook for a cheap 2nd mad bike. I'm only wanting to use it for leisurely rides , canal paths etc I won't be going off road.
I have been offered a Gary Fisher Marlin bike for £80.
I am guessing it's a fairly old model but it looks likke from the pictures I can see that it's in a decent condition.

Unfortunately I can't attach pictures for you guys to see.

Does anyone know anything about these bikes and if I'd be more than likely to be buying a duffer at that price?

Many Thanks

Hard to say as they were made from 199something up to now.

If it's in decent condition it will do what you want.

Do a google search for the make and model with the colour, see if you can find one the same and post the link?

    I found this:

Not sure if it's even close but they seem fairly decent.

Just depends if stuff neeeds replacing.

That doesn’t really cut it as a modern mountain bike, but for what you describe it would be more than adequate, however it’s about an 18 year old bike so you need to be sure the parts are all usable otherwise you’ll end up spending the same again.

I'd offer around £50/£60 if it's in decent condition.
