I'm about to fit a new 42t chainring to my bike - currently on a 40t.
Can I get away with using the same chain? I've heard that x1 can be quite sensitive to chain length.

Check it in big/big to see if the mech upper jockey gets pulled into the cassette, if its OK, then you'll be fine, that's only a nominal 1 extra link (1/2 a pair) in the chain.
