Damaged Rim - Repair or Replace - DT Swiss CR1600=R500?
Hi,
I had a bit of a run in with a storm water grate on Friday night. The run in has damaged my front wheel (DT Swiss CR1600) and cracked a rib so no bike for a week or so.
To repair the wheel the rim will need to be bashed into shape. It will not be 100% and I will have a nagging doubt in the back of my mind, particularly when I get to the steeper/faster sections of my commute. Ideally I replace the front but a quick search and a visit to the LBS has shown I can only buy as a set ($800+ AUD). I saw on a forum the CR1600's use a DT R500 rim (a tasty $60-70 AUD + wheel rebuild).
Can anyone confirm the R500 rim is used on the CR1600? That would make my day.

Try contacting DT. They may have the answer and could surprise you with some no or low cost help with a replacement. That would be the first place I would ask.0
