Hi all

Looking to spend up to £150 on a carbon compact handlebar. Please let me know what you would recommend.

Also, looking for decent carbon stems

I would recommend you buy one with the shape and dimensions that suit you the most.

Or, do you know at least what drop, reach and width you want? Then recommendations will be relevant otherwise this is pointless. "Compact bars" can vary in drop and reach by 10mm or more, 10mm is significant in bike fit terms.

Carbon stems are a complete waste of money unless you like the look of them. They aren't lighter or stiffer really. Go for a good alloy one, again with the measurements you want, your chosen degree of rise and length.

    Good advice from mfin.

I'll add the Satori X-Race Aero carbon to your 'good value' list. Oval top. Slightly swept back.

Stems?: Kalloy Uno 7 alu, if the angle suits.

Mf and MF have had loads of carbon stems - they aren't any better than a good alloy one but they look: and that's about it.

They bought themselves a Deda super zero like this a few weeks ago. Its lovely.

People like CRC, Merlin, Planet X etc always have loads of deals on stems so worth a look there

I'm using 3T Aeronova carbon bars with an aluminium 3T ARX II stem. The flat tops are not to everyone's taste or comfort and fitting the Di2 bar end Junc A had its difficulties, but I like them.
I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.

No - its for their unicycle so they can both use it at once.
