I was watching yesterdays stage and noticed a guy tried to push Froome off, at the start of the race, it was mentioned that security had been beefed up, I know it's impossible to cover everyone, but why aren't those who attack the riders get dragged off and charged with assault?

According to Twitter he's been arrested today.

For the giro they had a lot of Poice on the busy climbs. Almost a thin blue line. Not so many gendarmes that I saw on the mountain. Anyone with a flare should have been arrested within seconds.
