Must be so frustrating when you burn off most of the domestiques bar the specific climbers of all the teams, send a GT winner up the road and see sky with 5 possibly 6 riders leading the peloton. Ugh.

Surprised given his relative position in GC that he's not provoked more of a reaction - I know it's "only" Valverde, but still...

He's like my dog - runs around like a nutter and then realises he's out of gas, and he has the rest of the day to get through

Imo, Alaphillipe wasting energy with an overly long sprint for the KoM points.

Not if Alaphillipe isn't interested in the GC and his only goal in this years TDF is to win the polka dot jersey.

Big gamble from Sky, allowing Valverde to take this much time. The final climb is not as selective.

Where do they expect to take the time back from Valverde, in the Pyrenees?

Yeah, but he broke on the second HC climb, giving all the points to Barguil.

This is more like it. Soler has towed Valverde 1.5 minutes clear of the Froome group.

Why didn't Nibali or Bardet go with Valverde?
