Shaft drives have been around a long time but some dick compared a simple shaft drive with Ceramic Speed's highly efficient multi speed system.

Ceramic Speed weren't claiming to have invented shaft drives but utilised it in developing the most efficient system they could.

Sure as eggs is eggs, every time something new comes out someone is waiting to spaff on their keyboard in excitement at the opportunity to say, 'but it's been done before.'

Like 2% improvement, on what already is a very efficient machine, at 380 Watts ?

Who cycles at 380 Watts !!!

There's nothing wrong with it as a concept and as technology advances, the nearer the day we might see it in the shops. Subject to reliability, what interests me is the gearing range. Would be good if we can all go one higher or lower that we currently can as I'm sure we'd all like to from time to time.
