What do you want it to do?
Is it for planning routes or just as a tracker/record of rides you do?

You can plan a route in Strava, not the best but it works!.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

Strava is the only planning tool I use... so far I have got where I wanted to; I think it is a pretty good route planner if you’re using a PC.
Cube Reaction GTC Pro 29 for the lumpy stuff
Cannondale Synapse alloy with 'guards for the winter roads
Fuji Altamira 2.7 for the summer roads

Viewranger is great. You can download OS maps (and other kinds of maps) and routes from the website and you can do the route planning on a nice big screen, again on the website, rather than having to fiddle around on a phone screen.
