So, now we’re all riding 13 speed 1x aero bikes with disc brakes, is the humble jersey zip the next thing to go in order to make us all win that elusive KOM on the way to the cafe?

Let's see if they're still wearing zipless jerseys when they hit the mountains...

An aero jersey will be delight to take on and off, particularly after a hot sweaty ride.
Not to mention that you have to remove everything from the pockets before removing it.

I only found out about them yesterday morning and they'd won a stage by teatime. I'm ordering a dozen !

Marketing, I'd highly doubt they'd become a thing.

I have a Gore SS top which has a zip that only goes about 2/3 the way down. So none of the aero benefits combined with the need to empty the pockets before removal, the worst of both worlds.

I suspect there'll be a brief period during which we'll be expected to pay more for zipless jerseys which have cost significantly less to produce, then the bubble will burst, we'll all go back to the convenience of a zip and Planet X will be selling them for a tenner.

I wonder if it is harder to get the sizing right without the ability to get the thing on using a zip? Obviously, not an issue for pros but to go into mass manufacturing it might be.

where there is money to be made someone will do it. Castelli or Rapha are my call to launch it first (at a suitably reassuring price)

Basically they are wearing base layers, and have the joys of trying to take them off, getting trapped falling over and having to call for help.

Blimey. I don't think I've ever fallen over taking off a baselayer !!

Scrawl Rapha or similar on it, charge a fortune and you'll sell a million.

"Getting to race weight" will be problematic too.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.
