Crank Swap

I'm riding a Trek Emonda ALR with ultegra 6700 and my buddy is riding a Ridley Orion di2 ultegra. His left side crank is an FSA Energy 386EVO and mine is an ultegra 6700. I want to buy his crank from him for the power meter, so we would swap our left side crank. Will this swap work? Will there be any noticeable difference with two different cranks?
Thanks.

If he has an FSA chainset I'm pretty sure you can't just swap your left cranks. You may be able to swap the chainsets complete, but only if your BB shells are the same. I'm unfamiliar with either bike TBH

This makes no sense. Swap the entire crankset or buy your own power meter.

Your Ultra crank will have 2 pinch bolts to attach the LH crank arm whereas the FSA will likely have a large centre allen bolt. this means you can't fit them to each other.

Also the FSA will have a 30mm diameter spindle which wont fit in your Bottom bracket as it will be 24mm to fit the Ultra crankset

your mate could get adaptors though to fit your ultegra crank to his bike

Your best bet is to get watching eBay for a stages LH 6800 crank arm. they are £450 new on wiggle so probably half that on eBay

if you use irrational measures to measure me, expect me to behave irrationally to measure up
  • Assume they are both 86mm pressfit BB's, just swap chainsets and bottom brackets

I reckon the Ridley may have external BB though so you'll need to buy new ones to fit each bike
I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles
