    Bike manufacturers went press fit as they don't need to bond in metal sleeves to CF frames that can take threads and could just mould in in the bearing cups which is cheaper. Unfortunately they can't reliably manufacture frames to the tolerances required to keep the bearing life long and be creak free.

    Specialized have recently given up on press fit BBs and gone back to threaded ones as they must have realised it is less effort making threaded ones reliably.
