Worn casette?

Hi
Having trouble accurately indexing my gears on 10 speed casette. I'm normally pretty good at this job but this time struggling because the shifting from 2 to 1 doesn't seem to work while shifting between the other from 3 to 10 and back again is fine.
Limit screws are set correctly but if I change the tension slightly then shifting from 1 to 2 doesn't happen and then it jumps straight to 3 and works fine from 3 to 10.
Is this a sign my cassette is worn or something else?

More likely to be something is bent or the cables are past their best.0

When this happened to me before my gear cable was sticking.
Are you having problems with the 2 smallest gears?"Ride, crash, replace"0 -
First check is always cables. Cheap and easy to replace -inners and outers.I don't do smileys.

Also checking the mech pivots are moving freely, a clean and light lube can work wonders.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

I’d have said it’s more likely to be a problem with the cable. It might be snagging somewhere along its route. Check the little plastic guide under the frame, at the Bottom bracket isn’t all chewed up, that’s a good source of cable snags.0
