I think you can buy conversion kits, or the parts individually, you might have to go through your Lbs or direct to a distributor though, as a lot of the bigger online shops don't really tend to stock suntour stuff, especially spares.
That said I opted for a non remote when I got my epixon fork, my reasoning being I'm not a pro, so a second or two to reach down and flick the switch on the fork crown isn't a big deal for me.
Less clutter on the handlebars and if you plan ahead you can just reach down and switch it whilst riding.0 -
For example

You're looking at about £45 for the crown assembly and the lever assembly..

No Idea how reliable the above 2 sites are though.0 -
I've never had a remote lockout, nor wanted the bar clutter either. The times that I felt that I needed the fork lockout to be activated (like on long road climbs) were few and far between. And I ALWAYS forgot to switch it off when I got to the top, so I ended up careering down a steep and rocky descent with my fork locked out!
A bar mounted lever that I used to want was one to engage/disengage the different travel lengths on a Fox TALAS fork. Now would avoid that type of fork.0 -
It depends on what you want to use it for, I liked the x-loc on my old SID, easy to use, adjustable threshold and I was soon flicking it into lock for every sprint out of a slow corner. My new Rev is going RCT3 and for the intended usage I wouldn't have a remote lockout.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

I'm a big fan of lock outs, the additional real estate taken on the Handlebar is hardly a reason for not having one, the latest rockshox lockout share the same mounting as sram brake lever.
Remembering to unlock is juea matter of being on the ball, I've gone down a few hills with locked out forks, but it is not the end of the world, being able to lock out on the road or uphills again outnumbers the forgetful moments.0 -

No it doesn't.
Lock out is as pointless as a bar ends on a DH Rig...ie pointless :roll:0 -
I would never pay to have one fitted, and I almost never use the lockout function that came with my bike. But I wouldn't go as far as to say lockouts are pointless. For XC riders, racers, or maybe for riders that have to do lots of smooth climbs they could be useful, especially on bikes that are prone to pedal bob. In fact those riders whose pedalling style induces pedal bob may benefit from a lockout function.0
