Can anyone confirm that should I chose to replace the Crank Arms on my Shimano Ultegra 6800 Chainset. To ensure the replacements (Shimano or other) fit do i need to consider anything other than that they need to be 4 bolt Gear arms?

Given that the driveside crank arm is attached to the spindle you are essentially talking about fitting a new chainset. In which case it depends on the BB which alternatives you can consider. Not sure why you'd replace just the arms unless the pedal threads are stripped?

It's probably cheaper/easier to just find a whole chainset, whether new or old.

Not sure why you want to just change the cranks but keep the rings?

Some nice price, no idea on quality, cranksets at Merlin...

eg. £50 for 11-speed CX set with 36/46T, if you're happy with 175mm cranks.

Across my three bikes I have 3 different crank arm lengths and just want to standardise so that they are all the same. Naturally the kit I remove I will sell.

May well go down the purchase of the full chains, but thought I'd look to those that will be better informed to ask if just replacing the crank arms is an option. And if so what I need to consider.

I'm after 170mm, and have found new for as little as £119.95. Used is also an option, with eBay history suggesting about 50-60% of new cost.

Hopefully this thread will provide me with enough feedback to make the best choice.

If you can live with 105, 170mm cranks are £77/90 for black and silver respectively.
