Hello All
I have gotten a place for the Prudential RideLondon 2018 and not been from London will be staying at the London Docklands. My problem is how to get to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. I see the A12 takes me most of the way, but can cyclist ride on this road?

Awesome!! I am riding in that too. Where abouts are you staying? I tried to find a route / time from Docklands but wasn’t too sure.
If I’m right it’s about a 50min bike ride. Have you tried to google map a cycle route? The roads in London are actually pretty good for riding / commuting on if you don’t mind heavy traffic, you just have to have your witts about you.
But with the time you could be starting there shouldn’t be much traffic, therefore should be quicker0 -

No - that section is basically a motorway (I think it's used for the actual event though only in one direction). You'll have to use other roads I'm afraid, though won't be more than 20-25 minutes I would've thought0 -
Hi, last year I parked in Clova Road E7 9JJ, has permit parking from Mon to Sat and then cycled from there, took about 10mins. The A12 is shut near the start so I just avoided it. Sadly didn’t get in this year but really hope you enjoy it.0

It's probably easier to use public transport - save your legs for the day0

From Docklands, just follow the other riders. Ride it, don't think about public transport. You'll get info on the route to take on the website in a couple of weeks.0

Public transport will be a no go on the day. My experience was that signs for getting to the start were poor, but a bunch of us eventually met a Marshall who pointed the right way, then there were more signs and Marshalls the nearer we got.0

ah - sorry - I read it as he was trying to get to Excel - not the Olympic park for the start! ... yer -forget PT - just ride your bike there - as has been said - there will be signs on some of the main routes in - easiest is to work your way to a main route then follow the crowds!0

You can go straight up the limehouse cut (canal) which goes from near Canary Wharf to the Olympic park. Otherwise I would make your way to the greenway near Canning Town and then follow it to the Olympic Park.0
