Just looking for confirmation on this, Ive lost about 9Kg over the past six months, previously I could ride hours on end an no discomfort, now more than an hour an im getting numbness where you don't want numbness.
Saddle height and position remains unchanged as does bar height and angle. Is this a thing? All I can think is the lost weight is meaning less padding in said areas.

I’ve lost about 40 lbs in the past year and have also found my backside sore when it didn’t use to be.

I wear Assos bibs with a good quality pad so the only solution I can think of is to maybe find a new saddle.

    Hi Step83,

I lost a similar amount of weight and had the same issues. However I found that it was not the saddle but the shorts that were the culprit. More specifically due to the weight loss the shorts were now slightly too big and hence the pad was now further back then it should be. With the pad now in the wrong place for me the support created it's own issues with seams in the wrong place and rubbing & pressure where it hadn't been previously.

Solution was new shorts in a smaller size. Losing weight is great but can be expensive in new kit. Hope this works for you.

Maybe the weight loss is allowing you to 'fold forward' in to a more aero/lower position which is causing the issue perhaps?

I too found that losing weight made my sitbones a bit more susceptible; I'd clearly lost some padding in that area. I also found that I could experience some perineal discomfort on previously comfy saddles.
I suppose it's possible that loss of padding around the sitbones effectively reduces the stack height of your @rse, and may bring your sensitive soft tissue into contact with the saddle?

New arse new saddle... Same thing happened to me. A saddle I had ridden perfectly fine for some time became uncomfortable, also as I had lost weight I was riding further and longer.

Got a new Fizik Aliante and it feels great now.
