Help! Pick me a new commuter bike!

It's super nippy had a quick blat up and down the road last night.
Not sure I'd be comfortable drilling it out being a carbon fork, I'd be happy enough with cruds I think anyway, it's too pretty to wear full guards all summer.Saracen Tenet 3 - 2015 - Dead - Replaced with a Hack Frame

Good to see the order went through, for some reason I thought you ordered the green Zenium VR, but the Zenium SL looks lovely (quite similar looks to my Cube).
Shame the carbon post is a smidgen too short (think I've seen someone else report that the Vitus post had a stingy length for the frame size) and fingers crossed you can easily resolve the mudguard screw issue!
If you want/need an 11-32 cassette (seeing as the chainset is 52/36 and your route is quite hilly IIRC), Evans was the best price yesterday, £31.49 with BC discount.
I'd be interested in what you make of the 700x28 (folding bead version?) Ultra Sport II tyres, they often come up in sales for ~£11 and I've come close to trying at least one many times.
Happy riding!================

Yeah I was going to get the green one but the say I went to order it this was the same price, thought it would be rude not too.
Wiggle have just emailed to ask for pictures of the screw issue so we'll see how that goes. Good job I didn't chuck the box.
I'm not holding out much hope for the ultra sports, I had them before in 23c flavour and they were crap, punctured and cut up like crazy, it's only a shortage of fund thats meant they've stayed on the bike this long. My last set didn't even turn a wheel. The ones before managed about 60 miles before being written off. I'm going to give these a chance but I'm seriously considering going tubeless.
A 32t cassette might be required too, going to see how/if I cope with the 36/28 bottom gear first, I used to commute on a 36/25 when I first joined the forum and managed ok.Saracen Tenet 3 - 2015 - Dead - Replaced with a Hack Frame

Good to know about the mudguard eyelets - will be extra careful when I attempt to fit them this weekend. Will get a tap set as mine are also full of paint.
I also had problems with seat post length, same as you in between sizes opting for the smaller. Speak to Wiggle, CRC sent me a replacement free of charge.
On the Ultra Sports, I've been fairly impressed with them so far. Over 1500 miles without a visit, I'm fairly cautious in the wet anyway so can't judge wet grip but no issues in the dry. Was one of my main concerns when the bike first came.0 -
Gyah, I didn't think to speak to wiggle about the seatpost. To be fair though a giant connect 400mm seatpost was only £13.50 so I'm not overly bothered.
Definitely be careful with the bolts they're obviously not particularly strong. And there's no instructions about how far in they should sit, there was a good 5mm of thread sticking out when it sheared off. I was only turning it with a hex key too, no massive force involvedSaracen Tenet 3 - 2015 - Dead - Replaced with a Hack Frame

Rode it in for the first time today, standard seatpost is definitely too short, but the longer one came while I was at work so that's sorted. It's light fast comfy and judging by my time to get home in howling wind a fair bit more aero than my old bike, I love it.
I also take back anything I said about full hydro brakes not being much of an upgrade over HyRds, I nearly went over the bars down the big hill from my house to the main road, ridiculous.Saracen Tenet 3 - 2015 - Dead - Replaced with a Hack Frame
