Hello guys,
I'm in process of picking new road bike. My final candidate is Merida Scultura Disc 6000. I can chose between model year 2017 and 2018. First is bit cheaper, with Ultegra 6800 and RS685 shifters. Second is full Ultegra R8000. Which one would you pick? And one more question... 2018 is about .5 kilo lighter. But as I know, difference between groupsets it's not that prominent. Whellsets are the same on both bikes (Fulcrum racing expert... probably rebranded racing sports) Any idea where they save that weight?

8000 has safer Shadow derailleur and nicer hoods. 685 hoods are enormous.
Edit: by the way, why comparison of hydraulic 685 vs cable 8000? The new hydraulic is 8020 afaik?0 -

By R8000 I mean new version of Ultegra in general... You are correct hydraulic hoods are 8020...0
