Honestly he does too much stupid stuff to be above average.

There’s a fundamental lack of comprehension. I’m not just talking things like politics but also things like “you can’t rip up every piece of paper you ever read as President” and “no you cant watch porn in the whitehouse”.

He can’t even string 3 proper sentences together.

I think you are over estimating average.

Rumour has it that his IQ is 156, according to him. Not that he has actually been tested, he says that’s what it is because he is so smart. :?
He does like to continually make unsubstatiated and unverifiable claims which are two things genuinely intelligent people tend not to do.

Two things which are verifiable are his height and weight, both of which he has repeatedly lied about therefore it could be stated with almost absolute certainty that he lies about his intelligence.

Who am I kidding, of course he lies about his intelligence but not just his IQ also his EQ and AQ.

He can pardon himself so why not give his minions a heart attack by tearing stuff up? Either someone tapes it together or you pardon yourself! You're the boss Donny!

PS hand wringing liberals don't like it.

    Maybe.

I'm not that smart, and I figure if I can work it out and have a relatively reasonable handle on what I do and don't know...

you may need to sit down, but have you ever considered the possibility that average looks like a Love Island contestant?

I don't think that's what gave his minion a heart attack.

From what you've said about your educational achievements, that would corellate well with someone of reasonably high intelligence...

I think trump is incredibly successful, but I'm not sure we can put that down to a high IQ.

Honestly, I think intelligence is overrated.

There are a narrow pool of jobs where it really matters.

I think being well read (in the broadest sense, i.e. people who spent a lot of time learning and reading sh!t) is entirely more important. As is having the right attitude towards learning. I think there's probably a threshold intelligence required to allow you to do this, but it's lower than people think.

If you work hard at knowing the right sh!t and being open minded in the right way, you don't need massive IQ.

In that sense I really think Trump fails. He's never had to really learn anything abstract and he's in a job which is predominantly abstract, and I think he really struggles as a result.

How do you measure intelligence though? Some of the most academically qualified people come across as stupid outside of their field of expertise and if you think eloquence and being able to put a point across is a requirement for intelligence then a lot of geniuses would be classed as thick as they are unable to put their thoughts in a form that 'normal' people cannot understand.

Some people are academically useless but function well in business through some form of cunning or innate ability to work out how things are going to happen. You can have people who can assemble complex machinery and understand what does what but wouldn't have a clue on why it does it whilst others understand why it works but put a spanner in their hands and they would make a right mess, is one more intelligent than the other?

It's completely obvious that it is extremely difficult to measure intelligence, or define it.

We do however generally form perceptions on whether someone is intelligent (maybe you don't though, I don't know).

In Trump's case we're exposed to a lot of his words and actions which make us form opinions of how bright or dim we think he is, and that's all the poll is, a really rough indicator of how bright you think he is, nothing more.

Of course I judge as much as anyone else and to me he comes across as being thick as pigshit but part of me thinks it's an act as I just can't see how he could get where he is today without some level of intelligence (even allowing for the fact he inherited all his wealth and apparently would have had more had he just banked it, surely in the business world someone would have taken him apart and ripped him off by now if he was as stupid as he seems?).

I think he's spent most of his 'professional' life being exploited as a 'useful idiot' by crime syndicates and various other mafia-type organisations who have used his businesses to launder money for them. It probably explains how he has survived this long without ending up propping up a bridge or a flyover somewhere...

Having read the Press Conference quotes I'm getting off the fence and voting '1 - completely thick'. I was hoping that someone might demonstrate that you can't get to be the 'most powerful man in the world' whilst being thick and ignorant but it appears I'm more of an optimist than I ever realised.

A President with connections to the mafia you say?
    What could possibly go wrong?
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Wisely I didn't immediately vote if I had is have been completely wrong. I originally planned to view 5. On the way home R4 played clips of what I took to be the press conference from trump. I have just voted 1 completely thick. There can be no other answer after that performance. There simply cannot be any other answer.

To ask those choosing any other option than 1 completely thick you're wrong! You voted too soon. That's the only answer a sane human being with the capacity to to understand verbal communication.

How on this mad, mad, mad, mad, mad earth can anyone like Trump make POTUS? I simply cannot believe this is happening. It can't be! Wake me up now! Punch, kick, prod or slap me awake. If you can't wake me please disconnect my life support machine. I'm brain dead like Trump is in my form of existence.

I have never, in my whole life, heard a grown, educated, and literate adult talk such utter drivel. He sounded to me like a 4 year old child spouting the kind of drivel only young children can do. Drifting in and out of topics.

It wasn't edited drastically and very poorly was it? Radio 4 drive time news programme. They hadn't hacked at the Q&A had they? Just a thought, if it's edited in a biased way then there's a slim chance trump is not the idiot. No too far fetched. He is an idiot.

It was interesting to compare the few people who asked questions of the POTUS. The flatulent drivel suddenly replaced by the sound of a sane human adult! Like drowning and suddenly there's a lifebelt but it's quickly snatched away.

I know it's cnn, but here's a link with just a few of things he said (about things, many things) https://edition.cnn.com/2018/06/12/politics/trump-press-conference-north-korea-singapore/index.html

Love that silent bit. Where he said he'd not admit being wrong but would find some excuse. Gift keeps on giving.

Well later today I'm going to find and show a clip of the Q&A to show someone who's young and completely uninterested in politics. I seriously think Trump is good for pure entertainment as POTUS (not in his apprentice show though). I reckon it's a good way to slip politics into the minds of the few still disinterested young people around.

Yes go on grooming young people. FFS - and you are not going to do anything of the kind. You are a fantasist.

Actually it got a WTF response. A work colleague who is more interested in love Island. It seems it's not very good this year so she was bored enough to read about it (CNN article I was reading at the time).

I guess I must be a fantasist if the fishfish one says so. The one who's only beaten in the intelligence quotient by his idol Trump. But don't you think he went too far with grooming part? On taste grounds that is. Afterall what's wrong with trying to get the next generation into politics? Corbyn, Trump and Putin are doing it in they're respective countries and they're two generations older. I'm doing it by poking fun at a politician that's comedy gold at times.

I don't know, there could well be a few people on here who that applies to.

Naaah, even Fishfish is considerably brighter than Trump. And far more capable of responding to comments and questions in a vaguely relevant way. Look at any Fishfish post and imagine what Trump would have said instead.
