I'm not sure what your question is.
Key for a road bike is that the bike fits you properly. You will spend a lot of time sitting on the bike and there is only limited adjustment that you can make - so getting the right size and geometry of frame to start with is important.

More so is that bike worth the price given the age

Singleton is right, the fit is important.
Also we have no idea what kind of condition the bike is in, it is a 21 year old bike after all!

Both these things are more important than the spec.

I couldn't figure out if I could post pictures on this forum. As far as size I got measured at a local bike shop and they said the bike is the correct size for me

Is that the same shop that is selling it to you?
I like CAADs. A CAAD3 is a classic bike and so you are paying a premium for that fact.
There will be newer bikes available for the same money.

The bike is from a private seller not connected to the shop

If it's the right size, barely ridden, completely original and been in dry storage for 20 years it would be a good buy as a classic bike.

But for somebody new to road bikes I'm sure you can find something more recent, and possibly better for the money.
