Dear all Canyon rider, I have a Canyon Endurace CF SL Disc 7.0 (2017) of S size. I would like to buy a new chain for replacement. Is there any fast and easy way to count the number of links of my original chain? You know there are 114, 116 or even 118 chains in the market.

On a road bike 114 should do the job, you'll need a chain tool to size it anyway?

See Park Tools website for instructions how to size the chain, I use big ring/big sprocket plus one an a half links

Lay the new and old chains side by side. Cut the new chain to the same length. No need to count anything.

Only thing to consider is that is the old chain is well shot it could be easily a link too long, I replaced an 11 speed chain at .75% wear and it was over half a link longer than the new chain for the same amount of links.

Never ever seen a chain that 'stretches' an entire link. That's very unlikely. Half a link is easy to accommodate by sight.

Yea, just lay the chains out and cut the new one to the same number of links as the old
FFS! Harden up and grow a pair :D

    Exactly this. Easy

I have an Endurace SLX - the 114 link KMC did the job fine. Needed to lose 2 or 3 links from memory

Don't worry about the number of links, you'll need to shorten it anyway. Just make sure you get the right speed.

KMC chains with the included Missing Link are quite handy

Thanks everyone! I need to ask because I have to choose whether 114 or 116 links when buying a chain online. So it is impossible for me to compare the new one with the old one. According to Arthur Scrimshaw, 114 should do the job, then I would try the 114 one. Thanks again!

Just checked your spec, 52/36 and an 11/32 cassette? maybe up it to 116 links?
