Hi all,

So I'm about to start upgrading my Sora setup on my touring bike but am getting very confused about Shimano compatibility across the ranges so thought I'd post what I'm intending to buy:

Tiagra 4600 shifters - i have become a recent owner of these so they are effectively driving the rest
Rear mech - 105 5700
front mech - tiagra 4600
front chainset - tiagra 4700
cassette - tiagra HG500
chain - tiagra 4601

I believe they all go together, but let me know if you think otherwise, particularly the 4700 chainset.

Lastly, i'm going for a 11-32T rear cassette or even an 11-34T. Front will be 50-34T. Would the med cage 105 rear mech work with this?

Cheers!

That will all work together, if your 105 rear derailleur is a RD-5701-GS, the max low sprocket with a front double crankset, is 32T. You may be able to use a 11-34T cassette if you adjust the B-Tension screw/use a longer B-Tenson screw, you would need to experiment with it.
