Linskey tubes lower quality and heavier than most?
This is what I’m being told by two dealers I do not know if they say this just because they make a lot more money on the litespeed versus the Linskey.
I Want to buy gravel bike and I am looking at both the PRO GR and the GR 260 by Linskey and two dealers push me towards either of the Litespeed Cherohala or the Litespeed GRAVEL.
I am 6 foot 175 pounds. I Will use it both commuting on good to very poor roads from Chantilly into DC. Also plan to use it on fast group rides and also maybe mountain biking. The main concern would be commuting and fast Road biking I have a good trail bike. 2016 Trek Remedy 9.8 that is NOT a pedal smasher like too many bikes these days due to the downhill oriented geometry.
THANK YOU.

The Lynksey family were the founders of Litespeed over 30 years ago. They sold out (to the owners of Merlin Titanium, I think), took time out, then started again as Lynskey.

I had a Merckx Ti frame (either a genuine GAN team bike or a replica) which had been made by Litespeed/Lynksey. It was beautiful. So, if it’s good enough for Eddy and Boardman, good enough for anyone.

If it was me, all other things being equal, I’d go for the Lynksey, they’ve been at it a long time.

I would imagine that there is a grading system for all metals including Titanium. May be worth emailing the manufacturers and asking?

As for weight, if they are heavier then it will be marginal and not noticeable given the biggest variable on a loaded bike is the amount of water carried and whether the rider has had a dump that day.

I ride a Lynskey (R255) and am very happy with it.

    Try here:

Looks like Lynskey use one grade for their frames and Litespeed use 2 grades. I only looked at one bike on each site, it may vary with model. Not sure which grade is better.
