Should I return my bike for a better bike?

I recently bought the Boardman hyb 8.8, it's a great bike and I really like it. But I just realised that I can get the Boardman Hybrid Pro 2016 for the same price. Would it be worth it to go through all the hoops to get this bike? I would have to travel quite far to collect it.

Cheers

Why would they simply exchange your used bike for a new one?

The person I bought it from said I can return the bike within 28 days if I wanted to swap it for something else. I'm not sure this is standard policy, but I was torn between this bike and another, and he said he would accept a return if the bike is still in almost new condition.

Main question, why? They're practically the same bike. 1 less gear on the 8.8 but you won't notice that. Pretty similar otherwise.

I'm rather new to cycling, so I'm not sure what the differences are in terms of value etc. But I assumed the Boardman Hybrid Pro would be equivalent to the Boardman hyb 8.9 spec-wise, or atleast close. When I saw that the hybrid Pro should be a greater spec than the hyb 8.8 for the same price, I thought it would be worth looking into exchanging the bikes.

What are you trying to gain?

    More bling?
    More speed?

If this is for commuting - just get on with it with what you've got - unless there's something wrong with it...

Just the best bike for my money to put it simply.

They're practically the same. One has Sram 11 speed, one has Shimano 10 speed. Both have the same gear ratios. Both have the same wheels. The SRAM has one more gear which is broadly irrelevant. The Shimano probably has better brakes.
