    Cut out junk food and sugary drinks, then most people will rapidly lose weight. Add in some regular exercise and even better for your health as well.

    This exactly. You need to expend more than you take in. Eat sensibly and exercise. You can diet on a restricted intake, but you'll get bored and go back to your old ways eventually.
    I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.

    You will never make any money by simply repeating this.
    Multiple books/videos/ seminars being sold will basically say the same thing though.
    The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

    And portion control. What you might think is one portion of rice/pasta/whatever is probably two or three helpings.

    That basically says eat less, exercise more. It offers more advice on how to stick to it admittedly but that is largely what it says
