I've been having a quick look to see what's out for route planning and while a lot of them seem to want you to put in your start and end points and they'll do the clever routing I'm more interested in routes that start and end at the same place.

What are the best sites/apps that suggest routes, ideally based on you selecting the location, and some filtering on distance.

There will be times I'll want to plot my own routes, but this is just about having routes suggested/recommended.

Have a look at https://www.walkjogrun.net/iphone/ Don't know if it will work for you, but I use their site to make all my running / cycling routes, then print out any tricky sections.
The Wife complained for months about the empty pot of bike oil on the hall stand; so I replaced it with a full one.

I see you can download routes from plotaroute.com https://www.plotaroute.com/route/720 Use the 3-line Menu top right of the map itself.

My Garmin Touring Plus will suggest 3 possible circular routes if I tell it how far I want to go. I take a quick look at the map and profile of each then choose the one I like the look of best, considering the wind direction and whether I want hilly or flatter. I've discovered a lot of roads I've never cycled before, often quite close to home. Most of the time it's reliable, and it has a preference for smaller, quieter roads and the National Cycle Network.

Occasionally it sends me hilariously off-road...
