Unfair pricing on different clothing sizes

If you're buying by the container you get a good deal, but you might have to take the full range of sizes. If that means you've got too many of one size you either send them to landfill or discount them, otherwise you won't have room in the warehouse for the next load.

I think most people get it. So long as they start at the same price I think it's completely understandable that slower moving sizes are discounted more, that's market forces as others have said.

Yup, this is one of those times.

You know when you see someone post something and you think that as per usual, they only posted it to try and be a smart ars*?

Yup, this is one of those times.

Maybe, maybe not, but at least MF can afford to buy clothes that fit him.

Tbh, its the most ridiculous thing I've heard in ages - shops selling less popular sizing/ranges at a discount to clear stock to enable them to make a profit and keep on trading.

I'm not sure if it was a serious first post or just someone who has utterly no clue at all how the retail system works.

Please don't mortgage your house and open a shop, it'll end badly.

I guarantee you it wouldn't

I don't see it any different to selling larger sizes because they cost more to manufacturer. In fact I personally see that as more justifiable.

And what's this "MF" all about? Who in the world puts their initials instead of "I"? Do you talk like that in front of other people? I'm guessing you've been punched in the nose a fair few times if that is actually how you do talk....

It's because MF is MF. Why should I take props for his statements of joy, knowledge, intelligence and sagacity? That would just be wrong.

And yeah, I understand where MF, the cheeky little scamp, is coming from. You'd be plucked mate. Homeless in 6 months surround by XXL sized bib shorts.

It's a cracking opinion. The best. Biggly good. I'm sure Wiggle/Merlin/WalMart are quaking in the plimsolls at the thought of this new competitor entering the market.

You should try crowdfunding your new enterprise: with a business plan as good as yours you'll be signing on before you know it.

And don't take it personally - not everybody wants you to fall flat on your face. MF thinks you're funny: awkward but amusing in short bursts. Bit limited grammatically so you have to resort to cuss words but overall, funny. Ha ha not funny peculiar. Well, maybe a bit of that. Not as funny as say a talking cat, but acceptable. ish.

I think we should ask the Culture and Sport committee to bring their expertise to bear on the situation. They can set an authoritative price for each size that all retailers will be forced to charge. Sorted.

I'm big and clever enough to not only understand very, very basic retail economics but also to have a job that pays enough for me to afford clothes that fit. You seem to be lacking on both counts. Well, three counts if you include having clothes that fit.

Neither MF or I are actually sure of the contextual purpose of your grammatically incorrect sentence above but it does seem contradictory. Perhaps you could your carer to help you write your post next time.

I am on a break at work. Not enough time to be worth getting on a bike, far less a ride.

I would if I could afford cycling clothes in my size. :(
Cube Reaction GTC Pro 29 for the lumpy stuff
Cannondale Synapse alloy with 'guards for the winter roads
Fuji Altamira 2.7 for the summer roads
Trek 830 Mountain Track frame turned into a gravel bike - for anywhere & everywhere

    It won't happen.

As said above it's mostly when "sales" are on and they want to shift the stock which is lying on the shelves. Typically this will be the XS or XL+ ranges.

I have also seen it on the Castelli jackets with variations in price according to size AND colour. Popular colours have less or no discounts whilst less popular are discounted. So if you are an XXS bloke who happens to like pink with fluro yellow trim then grab yourself a bargain.

    Same with Ale jerseys.

    Supply and demand.

Try going on an extreme diet and get down to the S range or eat like a pig and get into an XL.......
(no pigs were harmed in the delivery of this "joke")

Being short is handy as I can pick up the odd deal but in casual or hiking shoes very few people import anything under a 7, and women's stuff is always ridiculous colours. I don't feel hugely sympathetic to normal sized people paying normal price for normally coloured things

Now that's not nice. Your carer isn't a fool - you think you're outwitting him but he's the one running his knob around every cup and mug you own. Every drink you take - hmmmmmm: essence of carer.

Much like everyone else, he's one step ahead. At all times. Step, step, step. He's probably able to afford clothes that fit him as well, much unlike you.
