Freehub Compatibility in Road Wheels

Hi all,

I've always just replaced freehub bodies with like for like originals and never had much trouble with it.

However, I've run into trouble finding a replacement freehub for my aero wheels (Pro Lite Bracciano A42 SE). They need a FH02S freehub but everywhere that lists them seems to be permanently 'out of stock'.

Also, the freehub needs replacing because the cassette splines had dug into the soft aluminium shell of the Freehub. This leads me to considering upgrading to a better spec freehub.

Many of the freehubs I've replaced in the past seem similar designs so it leads to me to question:

How would I go about finding a freehub that matches the design and dimensions of my current freehub from another manufacturer?

Thanks in advance :-)

As a last resort get the splines machined and glue steel slips on the drive side?
The Wife complained for months about the empty pot of bike oil on the hall stand; so I replaced it with a full one.

You can get them here, but looks like around £45 including postage to the UK:

Have you tried contacting one of the local (presumably UK) stockists to see if they can get it cheaper/quicker than being FedEx'd from Taiwan? Maybe it's OOS but easy to order.

The hub is probably made by the likes of Formula or Novatec who make OEM hubs for lots of 'brands' - worth browsing to see if you can identify the model of standard freehub - it's unlikely to be proprietary component just for ProLite.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

    Thanks all!

Having done a bit more research I believe I need a Novatec B2 freehub body.

    For others looking for freehubs:
There are a lot of people saying their Bracciano's need Novatec C so unless yours is a SE wheelset you might want to double check before ordering.

I will update this if I'm wrong and I did need a C.

Cheapest price was bikester @ £20.

I know this is an old thread but I thought I'd update it just in case anyone else is in the same predicament.

The Novatec B2 freehub arrived with 4 pawls instead of 3 and as it'd been shipped from Germany (Bikester) it would have been uneconomical to return it.

Before you go any further take a look at this site as I found it incredibly useful:
