Best value 38mm+ carbon disc brake wheels?

Looking for a nice light aero wheel set. Debating the eBay-Chinese Taiwan route but a little unsure that the hubs and spokes will be laced properly for disc.
Are there any other bargains out there?
As the disc wheels should effectively last a very long time if hubs and bearings are serviced and changed I’m also thinking of going for Zipp or Mavic.
Really open to any recommendations, interested on peoples thoughts as warping rims is no longer an issue.

not really too sure why you're thinking that but hey ho...
i've just fitted some Hunt wheels to a friend's bike - light, look very good, realy nicely made, come with spare spokes, spoke key, skewers, etc etc.
worth a look.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

As they will be low spoke count you will be better off with a deeper rim. Not only will they be more aero (slightly) and if they have the right profile they won't feel choppy in cross winds but if built properly the spokes should last longer. The mid depth rims is offered for asthetics not for any real technical reason.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0

why are spares spokes needed. Generally if a spoke goes they all need changing. by supplying spares spoke Hunt are encourging the replacement of one then the wheel will be ridden until another one goes. That what happens in reality so two rides get ruined. If a mech ends up in the spoke many get damaged so many need changing. So while spare spokes and a spoke key are a nice idea in practice it may not be.
that my experience anyway.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0 -
I recently saw wiggle & chain reaction have their prime carbon disc wheelsets running very cheap. I have a pair of their 38mm rim brake version and for what it's worth have been very impressed. For me having a warranty and UK contact was the winner when weighing up against the slightly cheaper chinese options.0

Wife has a set of the Prime RP38 disc tubeless ready on her bike and have to say they are a bargain for the money.I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.0 -
I’ve pulled the trigger on the TCR Pro disc that comes with carbon 30mm wheels.
Think I’ll live with it for now. Looks a solid wheel. I’ll see what deals come up in the next few months.0
