I'm going to replace my Outer and middle chain ring on my m970 crank. i've looked at the makings on the back of the rings and jotted them down. When i've went to look for them online it seems they don't make them no more? Ive searched with no luck.
They are...
Shimano sgx m9 44 aa/ab (outer)
Shimano sgx 44 33 22 (middle)
Shimano sgx m9 22 aa (inner)
The bcd is 104

I'm looking for ones that are compatible.
Please can anyone give me advice on which ones to buy. I don't want to buy XTR ones because of the price.
Would XT fit?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Steve

XTR M970 had a specific ring spacing for the granny ring but I think any Shimano-compatible middle and outer rings with a BCD of 104 will fit.

T.A. Sismic rings fit and are fairly cheap.

The alternative is to buy a new chainset and BB (SLX or XT, maybe), although 9-speed are getting harder to find.

Why do you think that JBA?

I just stripped one and put a single steel 48t on it and they looked standard to me?

I remember reading posts on various forums a few years ago about XTR M970 having an odd spacing on the granny ring. I could be wrong though.

You clealry didn’t put a 48t in as a granny ring!

No, cos that’s not possible. Running it in middle. I mean all the rings I took off looked standard. But I may be wrong, as it all is a bit one off
