Buy a new bike or upgrade old bike???

hi guys I'm new to the group and just looking for some advise, I have a old specialized hard rock sport, it's abit knackered and not really safe for using it for what I want to (hard off road trails and dirt jumps), I think the frame is pretty good but I want air forks I can adjust and disc brakes, would it be better to just buy a new bike rather than polishing an old turf so to speak, thanks for any help in advance

A picture would help, as without people will suggest things that are not possible, like do you have disc mounts ect?0
