Dial shoes- potential issue?

I recently got some mavic elite shoes off wiggle, the shoe has two velcro pieces then there own version of the dial adjustment at the top. I have done one ride on them and they were great. I went to use them before and found that I was unable to losen the wire to get my foot into the right shoe. It seems the wire got stuck somehow in the dial. I gave it a tug and it came out. The wire now has a bend in it which makes it look a bit silly. The mechanism appears to still work.

I have 105 mile ride next weekend so don't really want to not have good shoes for it! Has anyone had something like this happen to their shoes? I have contacted wiggle and had to email photos to the warranty dept but would like to avoid this if possible.

Never had issues like this, but mavic is awesome because all ratchets are replaceable, for a lot of other brands they aren't. If I've ran into a problem like yours I would go online and find a replacement dial/wire, but given that your shoes are new, always go through warranty first.

I had those shoes, I think. Did you pull up on the ratchet, as opposed to turning? It should just pop out. Sorry to ask what might be a silly question.

    Thanks.
I have emailed wiggle with a photo and contacted mavic.
It would appear you can buy the dial/ new wire if necessary.

No it's the boa style dial with the thin plastic coated wire.
The wire was straight and just curved round. But it would appear to have become creased or bent in the housing somehow.
