The Giro might well be due to begin but why focus on the controversies of the Israeli start, Lance's little visit and Froome's participation when the newly-extended tour of God's own country begins on Thursday.
Here is the latest start-list : https://www.procyclingstats.com/race/to ... /startlist
Starting off in Beverley in the East Riding the riders will clock up a total of 711KM and around 7800M of climbing before they hit Leeds on Sunday afternoon.
Stage Previews can be found here: https://www.procyclingstats.com/race/to ... e-profiles
Stage 1 is expected to end in a bunch sprint in Doncaster. Stage 2 has the first summit finish in the Tour de Yorkshire's (limited) history on the Cow & Calf, hallowed ground for us Yorkies. The third stage has the now traditional Scarborough finish whilst the final day looks like a really tough run from Halifax to Leeds including 6 classified climbs.
I will be heading to watch at least one stage so will try and update the scores as often as I can. The peloton is due to leave Beverley at 13.50 so get your GC and Stage 1 picks in before then please.
