Hi everyone,
Just bought some new Hunt wheels to replace the standard Shimano RX31 wheels.
Can anyone tell me what tool I need to remove the disc rotor? It looks like a cassette removal tool, but mine doesn’t quite fit.
All replies appreciated

Yes you use the cassette tool for the center lock rotors. Are you sure you are placing it correctly?0

Thanks for the prompt reply.
Yes, well I think so! I've been trying for quite a while, but the removal tool wont fit onto the splines, it wont go past the bit in the middle thats not a circular shape.
Thanks0 -
Its too short I am afraid. You'll need a longer one sold specifically as a rotor removal tool, or remove that end cap and use that one, then use Hunts own in future (which work with a bb removal tool).0

Thanks for the reply.
I'll do some googling, but if anyone can point me in the direction of one that will work, that would be appreciated.0 -

Did you read the q&a first ?
Question: Do you know the internal diameter at the splined end please? My thru axle clearance is small and my other lockring tool won't go in far enough to grip
Answer: Don’t bother had same issue bought this & is no more help. Need the other lock ring type instead which uses bottom bracket tool to tighten

(the other answer says that this does work for his alfine axle though)0 -

Is it a length thing though - if you have the clearance over the centre hub bit you should be good.0 -

I have 2 sets of Hunt wheels and used a Park Tools FR-5 lockring tool to fit the rotors, unfortunately it's been discontinued but they now have the FR-5.2 https://www.parktool.com/product/cassette-lockring-tool-fr-5-2'Hello to Jason Isaacs'0

The issue is getting the rotors off the Shimano wheels0 -
