I decided to swap the 42cm bars that came with my bike for 40cm wide since I have fairly narrow shoulders.

My shortlist for replacements is:
FSA Vero compact alloy FSA Omega compact 3T Ergonova aluminium Pro LT Compact Alloy Handlebar Bontrager VR-C Zipp service course 80 Deda Zero 1 RHM

Has anyone tried one or more of these and know of much difference that would influence my choice?

Had the 3T Ergonova and didn't like them. Switched to the 3T Aeronova and much better for me being a compact bar. Both though are narrower at the hoods than on the drops so be sure you order the right size if you go for them.
I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.

main factor is the shape/depth of the drop, you need to decide what you prefer here

fwiw i have the deda rhm bars on my commute bike, i like the shape

if you decide on deda, bear in mind the measurement is outside-outside, rather than the usual centre-centre
my bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny

My favourite bars are the 40cm Ritchey WCS Evo Curve they're amazingly comfortable and look great too
  • Not much difference between most of these choices - they're all a fairly standard compact bar shape.

For what it's worth, I have (and like) Deda RHM bars on both of my roadies.
  • Anyone tried 3T Superergo Pro's?
I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles
