I have a delay with bit of chain grinding for a second when changing on the front chainset it works but is delay with a lot of noise while changing. Could this be where I moved the front mech while swapping from semi to compact it didn’t do this with the semi compact on same length chain etc . 50-34 and 11-28 .

Have you changed the size of the bug ring?

Yes I went from 52-36 to a 50-34 and moved the front mech down slightly

Not sure means you didn’t! If you moved your derailleur down the seat tube, you in effect made the cable longer (by reducing the distance between shifter and derailleur).

Put the front on the small ring and see if you have any slack in the cable. If you do this needs to be taken up by loosening off the pinch nut, pulling the excess through and re-clamping it. That should do it. Refer to the Dealer Manual for more comprehensive instructions.
