I fitted eTap to my bike earlier this year but got fed up with trying to solve it and have been riding my other bike since. Now the weather has arrived I want to get out on this bike but this puzzles me.

I'm no mechanic, why would the rear derailleur do this?

Any help very welcome :?

Sticky link in the chain? Look for one that won't bend.

yup - it'll move forward when the effective chain length shortens.
If you didn't use a quicklink to join the chain then I'd guess it's the pin where you've fitted it - just nudge it back out a fraction and it'll remove the pinch on the link.

    Thanks

Its a KMC chain so defo a quicklink.

Chain is brand new....I could give it a clean too as the lube on it quick thick.

Don't clean off the thick lube. That's good for a couple of hundred dry miles.

Just wax your chain, saves time and money. The best part you never have to clean the chain.
